Are you listening? ⚡✨

Like ANYTHING, listening to your intuition can feel hard to follow. Intuition is that inner wisdom, that gut feeling guiding us towards our true path. It’s our soul’s GPS navigating us through life’s twists and turns with clarity and confidence.

These days, my life is much more intuitively led, but when I was younger I would hide my gifts and the power of my intuitive voice, fearful of looking within. I relied on trends and the approval of others, of my parents and friends to tell me what to believe, what to follow, what to buy, and what I thought I needed.

We’re led to fear or distrust our intuition from a very young age because of the nature of society and rules and beliefs set in place. So we create a structured path to fulfillment and success and push away our creativity, gifts and ignore the language of our intuition. We believe that power exists OUTSIDE of us - have a job, make money, own a home, work harder, do it all - and it creates an exhausting and constant state of doing and achieving. We stop asking ourselves when we have had the answer all along. Especially as women, we are gifted with a primal intuitive body. 💫The more you use your intuition and flex this trust muscle the more you activate, the more you receive.

I was 26 in April 2012 when I drove 4 hours out to a random town in eastern Colorado and picked Emilio out of a litter of 13 French Bulldog puppies. It was the second breeder I had visited at that point. He was 4 weeks old standing in a makeshift puppy pen that was really just a rundown bathroom shower, surrounded by 12 black and white frenchies. He was the only fawn pied and I knew he was the boy I’d been searching for.

Emilio wasn’t just a pet; he was a source of endless laughter, comfort, companionship, my adventure buddy. He showed me unconditional love like never before. He will forever be an irreplaceable part of my life.

One of the fondest memories I have is the way Emilio said “Good Morning” to me each and every day. He would push the bedroom door open with his bulbous Frenchie head and saunter into the room, ears back, eyes full of love and care. He’d put his little face into my hand and do his Frenchie snort and grunt. A ritual that never failed to warm my heart.

Emilio had the ability to touch everyone’s heart - people often commenting he was the sweetest French bulldog. He didn’t have to try - he was always happy to see people and they genuinely adored his charming and sweet nature.

As I bid farewell to my best friend, the end of an era, forever impacted and changed by his love and presence in my life - I will carry forward the things he taught me. The importance of unconditional love and showing that love, living in the present, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life, to not take life too seriously, laugh at yourself every now and then. Emilio may no longer be physically with me, but his spirit will forever live on in the cherished memories I hold dear.

In writing this eulogy, I honor Emilio’s life and the indelible mark he left on my heart. May this remind us that even in our grief, the joy of having had our dogs in our lives far outweighs the pain of saying goodbye.

Rest in Peace, Emilio. Fly high, little buddy. I love you so very much.

Wonders of the Nature Coast

When I visited Florida back in February and March of this year it was in search of experiencing Florida’s Nature Coast and of course, learning more about advocating for manatees.

The idea was designed to celebrate the beautiful wilderness, small towns off the beaten path, and overall uniqueness of the Sunshine State.

Florida gets a bad rep. I get it, though I largely blame media hype. For most people, this is their idea of Florida: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the weird. It’s Daytona and beaches and Florida man and Disney, highways and strip malls and palm trees and dog-eating alligators. People don’t hear about or see or know anything of the real Florida. They gloss right over those most special and rapidly disappearing parts to gobble up that media hype. . . Locals call it “Old Florida” and if you’ve experienced it, you know.

Old Florida is a magic that’s tough to describe.

Old Florida is an elusive idea of the Sunshine State’s earliest days, a time period that bridged together the histories as an untouched wilderness and a traveler’s paradise.

Hiking amongst a hundred year old banyan tree, or hanging out below a live oak with swooping branches that sometimes touch the ground - dripping all over with Spanish moss . . . Or if you’re really lucky, swimming in one of the freshwater rivers when the manatees swim by.

Some of it is permanently protected thanks to Florida State Parks and the Florida Forever Program, but there are still gaps that can further divide the already fragmented land.

The springs and estuaries face danger from encroaching development, overuse of fertilizers, and waste pollution. I encourage everyone to get out and experience the magic of the Nature Coast while treating it with the respect it deserves. You might just fall in love with it like I did!

It’s summer, the sun is out, 🙌 energy is lifting, more vibrance, more space. Physically + energetically we experience more light. It’s also a time of letting go and reassessment. What has reached its end in your life? What are you ready to commit to? What have you been putting off? Do you want to end this year exactly as you started it or are you ready to EVOLVE? 🦋

Approach the idea of your future self with openness, trust and curiosity.

What daily moments or small habits can you integrate in your life for that reality? To invest in yourself NOW as a thank you to your future💫

Life is a mirror of you.🪞It reflects your energy and HOW you treat yourself. A reminder to take responsibility for our own energy and mindset. 🌈💖

The path from survival to abundance is all about surrender and trust. This quote resonates deeply with me and my journey. There have been moments when I felt overwhelmed, wondering why certain challenges were happening to me. It took a shift to realize that the energy I was putting out was directly influencing my experiences.

Pay attention to every single emotion and trigger that shows up. It’s illuminating what matters most for you and is guiding you toward your next evolution on this planet. This shows up especially when we are faced with difficult decisions and I find comfort that BOTH will be equally fulfilling. There is no right or wrong path - both will be filled with joy, blessings, difficulties, challenges, and fulfillment. So take that leap of faith.

What is holding you back from true expansion? 🤍 Take some time to journal, cry, dance, scream, express yourself + spend some solo time connecting to your own truth and inner journey. ✨

How do you take your coffee? ☕️ 🪐⚡️

I can’t survive a morning if I don’t get my morning boost and my go-to is this amazing superfood coffee. It has all that I need to wake me up. It feels like a nice warm hug before any early morning adventure. It’s basically self-care in a cup.

Ingredients:
1 cup high-quality coffee (I love, love using @alpinestartfoods - especially on roadtrips!)

1/3 cup oatmilk

1 tsp cosmic elixir superfoods blend

Optional: 1 really rad cliffside view ⚡️⚡️

Add all ingredients into a mug, stir, and enjoy! 😊

Every single photo I take has a story behind it.

There is a process, and a journey, and sometimes hours or days or even weeks of my life put into capturing each image.

There are lists, there are maps, there are itineraries. There are travel plans and 3 AM wake ups to make a sunrise or sleeping in a car in the freezing cold in the middle of the desert or driving in a car for 40 hours to experience a specific wildlife migration. There is time, there is money, there is my heart and my soul.

I’ve heard some people critique photography as an artform and say “anyone could do that.” The reality is that a lot of people can’t, or won’t. There is so much more to taking a photo than just pressing the button and putting it into photoshop to edit or adding a filter.

Throughout my life I’ve always been into photography. When I took my first photography class in 8th grade over 20 years ago, I fell in love. Because then in my hands I had the ability to freeze an exact moment in time and hold onto it forever.

Jane Goodall once said: “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” 🌎

When you head into work and back home, how are you making that trek – by car, by bus, by bike, by foot? Are you bringing your reusable water bottle with you? Are you picking up the litter you spotted on your way into the office? Whatever you choose to do, you’re having an impact on your surroundings. And it is up to you whether that impact is positive or negative.

Think about what that means. Think about how powerful that makes you! And today especially, as we celebrate World Environment Day, think about how you can keep making choices that are good for the world around you (and the people and animals around you, too). 💚

🔥becoming unshakeable ⚡

Through every bump + every turn, through every challenge + every heartbreak 💔 I will continue to be MY most authentic self. To continue to make choices in alignment with MY own truth. It won’t always be perfect. I WILL make mistakes. But I will always be vulnerable, I will always walk my own walk, I will always keep growing + evolving.

Don’t be afraid to take the unconventional pathway that doesn’t make sense to society or the people around you. People will judge, assume, and talk. LET THEM.

It’s so easy to put your energy into the 2% or the 4 people that give you negative energy. It’s easy to get caught up in the drama that surrounds you. The evening this photo was taken I found myself caught up in drama + and it took me out of the high vibrational energy I woke up with but I stepped away, repeated a few affirmations in my mind, and TOOK back my energy.

We are responsible for the vibration that we put out into the world 🌎 Where we put our energy + attention we give the freedom to E X P A N D. It is in our nature to expand. We want to know more, to love more, to have more, to enjoy more. We crave more. So what do you do? You take control of your own life. You create your happiness. Becoming unshakeable means you won’t let the people, situations, or challenges affect your energy. Nobody knows what’s right for you, except you.

Keep doing you. Keep creating a vibration of truth + your authentic path. NEVER doubt your worth or the beauty of your truth.

📸 the first shot I love the way the light hit the spire - the clouds did get some color, but then the spire was shadowed. So - I’m including both here because I couldn’t decide 😂
